Blogger Tips Tuesday: Drastically Increase Twitter Followers With TweetBig

I work with several sites that expect me to have a huge Twitter following. To take advantage of reviews and giveaway oppurtunities, I knew I needed to raise my following.  About a month ago I only had 298 Twitter followers and 5 weeks later I sit at 2,003 Twitter Followers.  How did I do this? TweetBig.

TweetBig is a brilliant Twitter management tool that helps you drastically increase your followers and build your network. Using the TweetBig system is easy. Start off by signing in with your username, Twitter username and email and you will be guided through the entire process. At the end of the set up process you can expect to pay $1 for a 7 trial.

TweetBig is has 6 awesome tools.  Keyword Gather lets you enter keywords and phrases that interest you and TweetBig will find people using those keywords and show you the most qualified users that are most likely to follow you back. Piggy Back lets you add competitors with a similar niche and TweetBig analyzes their followers and identifies recommended users that you should follow. TweetBig will then check regularly for new users to follow. Auto Followback will follow back all of your new followers. Follow Timebomb lets you decide how long users have to follow you back before you unfollow them. This is one of the top ways to increase followers. Tweet Scheduler lets you schedule future tweets easily. Red Carpet shows you which of your followers has the most influence and biggest following.

TweetBig is great because it does most of the tasks immediately. My favorite features are the Piggy Back, Follow Timebomb, and Auto Followback.  I love Piggy Back because you can add 15 competitors and TweetBig identify the best users for you to follow along with showing you their follow percentage. Keyword Gather doesn't show the follow percentage. I like the Follow Timebomb and Auto Followback for obvious reasons. Tweet Scheduler is great because it has a URL shortener included.  Red Carpet I find useless.  Maybe I just don't understand its purpose?

After the 7-day trial, you can cancel or pay $17.95 per month to keep the service going. If you’re not a heavy Twitter user then it might not be worthwhile for you to use TweetBig. If you search hard enough you can probably find cost-free tools that will do practically the same thing. But you will have to utilize more than 1 service to match all of the features offered. Overall, I would recommend TweetBig to anyone who needs a larger Twitter following. I increased my Twitter followers by over 1700 in a little over a month. As long as you are searching for people within the same niche, you should see more traffic to your site along with more active users on Twitter.

Blogger Tip Tuesday: Monetize Your Site!

Want to know how to make money with monetizing your blog or website? For today's Blogger Tip Tuesday I have created a list of companies for monetizing your site and my opinion on the ones I have used. I recently created a post similar to this and it was HOT with readers pouring in from everywhere to read it. I wanted to update it and make a few changes.

There are several ways to Monetize your blog along with several companies to use.  Some of these companies are very similar but pay more or less than each other. Most offer something different from another.  I have signed up with several of these but for the others, I just listed them so you have the opportunity to try them out too.  Not just the ones I have tried.

My Favorites include Escalate Media, Logical Media, WeUseCoupons, Sponsored Tweets, Google Ad Sense, and Social Spark. I used each of these daily!

Affiliate Companies:

Logical Media offers the most campaigns out of all the affiliate networks. There is always a chance to make money with them because of all the different campaigns they offer. Plus, you get a $25 sign on bonus! You can't cash out until you have $100 but you can make the money fast if you really try! I have made over $200 with them in a few months with barely trying.

MySavings Media Super Affiliate Program
MySavings Media has some similar campaigns as Logical media and Escalate media but they also offer different campains that neither offer. Signing up with them will give you extra campaigns to post about and more options to make money.

Escalate Media- This is one of my favorites because they offer more campaigns suitable to my website. Most campaigns are similar to logical media with a few different ones too.  Plus, they usually pay a little bit more than Logical Media per offer. You can cash out after earning $50!

WeUseCoupons.com is a pay per click and you get bonuses for every referral. This one is simple just put the button up on your site and when people click it to get their coupons, you earn money. To sign up just click on the link here and then click on Affiliates on the navigation bar.  Then fill in your info and start making money!  If you like me enough you can fill in my name (Jessica Oberle) for who sent you!

Blogger Tip Tuesday: How to Get More Followers

Have you been trying to gain more followers to your blog? Today's Blogger Tip Tuesday will bring you all the information you need to know about getting more followers through Google Friend Connect, Twitter, and Facebook. In this post I will mainly discuss following via Google Friend Connect but each topic mentioned can be used for both Twitter and Facebook too. The best way to encourage people to follow your blog is to have awesome content with something they’ll want to come back and read again. Write interesting blog posts that provide information, entertainment, pretty pictures, etc. You can also gain followers by:

Blog Hops
When you add your blog to a hop list, other people will click on your blog and comment on your site along with following you. Once they follow you, normally you would follow them back. There are blog hops for Google Friend Connect, Network Blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Subscribe by Email, and more. I host (2) Blog hops each week. Meet Me Monday and Wandering Wednesday.  Hope to see you there! Plus, don't forget that I have a Blog Hop Library on my site.  You can use this to find a blog hop for everyday of the week.

Giveaways
Having giveaways is a great way to build followers. You host a giveaway and have others follow you as one of the ways to enter the giveaway.

Add Blog URL to Signature
Include your blog URL in your email, discussion board, and comment signatures. This will attract more guests to your blog. This idea works great when you add your blog URL to your signature in relevant topic boards. For example, I post on coupon message boards all the time, so adding my Inspiring You To Save blog URL to the end of posts will generate more readers who are interested in my blog's focus. Plus, you can comment on other blogs (in relevant comments) and include the URL.

Guest Posts
A guest post is a post you write and someone else features on their site. The best way to make a guest post pay off for you is to make it pay off for the reader. You want them to find what you write relevant and interesting and get those readers to come to your site and possibly follow you. Also, the readers of the guest post could share your post with social networks, bringing you more followers!

Blog Roll
A blogroll is a list of links to other blogs or websites that the author of the blog regularly likes to read. Some bloggers will add you if you just ask and others will make a trade.  You put them on your blog roll in exchange for them adding you. Try to find a blog on the same topic or at least some how connected to the same topic.

Social Networks
Share you blog URL on Facebook and Twitter.  Encourage your social media followers to follow your blog.  A great way to encourage them is by hosting giveaways. You can also post feed from your blog on Facebook and Twitter and hopefully this will interest them enough to follow you.

If you are looking for more ways to gain followers for Facebook and Twitter all of these tips can be used for that too!

Do you know a way to gain new followers that I didn't list?

Blogger Tips Tuesday: Post Your Blog Feed Directly to Facebook and Twitter!

Have you been wanting to post your feed directly to Facebook or Twitter but weren't sure how? Or do you post your feed manually to both sites but want a way out?  Today I'm going to teach you how to post your feed directly to Facebook and Twitter using a website called TwitterFeed.

TwitterFeed is a service that will automatically publish your posts to Twitter, Facebook, Ping, Statusnet and more. It even lets you customize how many posts, tiny urls, and more.  I was so excited to come across this service because I used 3 methods to set up mine instead of just 1!

Here's how to sign up for TwitterFeed:
1. Log in on Facebook and Twitter.  This will just make the process easier.

2. Sign up with TwitterFeed.com. Do this by going to twitterfeed.com and scroll down to the login box and click on "Don't have an account yet?". Now enter your email address and password and click on Create Account.

3. Name your feed. Choose a name for your feed (blog name, etc.). Next we have to go into blogger and get your feed URL. To do this go to your Blogger dashboard and click on Settings for the selected blog. Now click on the SiteFeed tab and scroll down to Post Feed Redirect URL.  You will see a URL and you need to copy it and then paste it back at Twitterfeed in the Blog URL or RSS Feed URL box.  Afterwards, click on test rss feed.  If everything is okay then click on the Continue to Step 2 button.

NOTE: If you post on your blog more than twice and hour at any given time you will have to click on Advanced Settings and change the setting for And post up to "X" new update(s) at a time. I just choose 5 to be safe.

4.Configure Publishing Services. Lets start off with Twitter. Under Services Available click on Twitter. Now click Authenticate Twitter and click Allow. Afterwards, scroll down and click on the Create Service button.  Now you should be back on the main Services Available page. Now click on Facebook. Click on Connect with Facebook and under Facebook pages select your Facebook page name. Now scroll down and click on the Create Service button. Next it will take you back to the main Services available page and scroll down and click the All Done box.

Congrats! You have successfully configured a feed!  You did it! Aren't you excited!  No more hard work for those of you who did this manually!

Note: If a time comes where your feed isn't being checked, there is a way to force twitterfeed to check it. Just click on check now in the feed dashboard, and twitterfeed will do an immediate fetch of the feed, and post new item(s) if it finds any new items in the feed to post.

Blogger Tips Tuesday: How to Make a Blog Button!

Photobucket

Have you ever wanted to make a blog button with grab code but you weren't sure how?  Today I will teach you.

Here's what you will need:
1. Photo editing software (Gimp, Photoshop, etc.)
2. Images for button
3. Image hoster (Photobucket, etc.)

Lets start off by opening your photo editing software.  I am going to use GIMP because its FREE and easy to use.  If you don't have a photo editing software you can download GIMP here.

After you have gimp open you are going to go to File>New and you will see this box come up.  We are going to change the width and height to 125x125 because it is the standard size of a button. Afterward you are going to change Fill With to Transparency. Click Ok.  Now you should have a blank 125x125 box on your screen. Go ahead and open everything you want to put on your button.  To do this go to File>Open and find your images. I am going to add a background, image and text.

Once you choose your image, try and decide which one you want for your background.  Once you do this, we are going to have to scale it to size (125x125).  You can do this by going to Image>Scale Image>. Once you do that you will see a box pop up.  In that box you will change width and height to 125 and hit Scale. Now your image should be 125x125.  We now need to copy and paste the image onto our blank canvas.  To do this you will hit Shift>Ctrl>V at the same time.  You should now see your background image over your blank canvas.

Obviously with such a dark background I can't stop here, but if you have a light background you can.  I am going to layer another image on top of this one.  I already had my image opened so I just scaled it by going to Image>Scale Image and changing width and height of my second image to 110x110.  I want my first background to show just around the edges, kind of like a frame.  If you decide to do this step you can change the width and height to whatever you want depending on how much of the first image you want to show.  Here is my new image after copy and pasting my second image onto my first.

After we have our background we are going to add graphics or elements to pretty it up.  I am going to use the image inside my header and scale it to size to fit inside my button.  I started off by scaling the piece of my header image to 100 in width and the final product ended up being only 60 in width.  In GIMP you can change the width or the height and it will change the opposite accordingly.  So when I say I adjusted the width of my image to 100 it will adjust the height to make the image proportionate. This will always happen unless you click on the chain icon to the right of the width and height boxes to break the chain. If you break the chain you can make the image be whatever size you want proportionate or not.

Here is my button so far.  I scaled my image to this size because I have to have room for my blog title.  Next we are going to get started with adding text.
To start adding text you will have to click on the A that you see in the toolbox on the right hand side of GIMP screen.  Once you click the A you will see the bottom of the toolbox change.  You should now see a place to change font type, font size, font color, alignment, and spacing.  For your button lets start off by changing the font type, size, and color. Now lets start adding our text.

After you add you text and adjusting it accordingly you should see your final product.  Now you need to save it by going to File>Save As. Now enter the name of your button.  I named mine IYTSButton.jpg.  Now hit Save.

After you hit save you will see this box come up.  Hit Export.  A new box will pop up and make sure Quality is set at 100% and hit Save.  Now your image is saved and we can upload it to your image hosting.  I am going to use Photobucket.  I think most people are fimailar with Photobucket so we won't use pictures but I will give you a step by step on how to do this.  Log in to your image hosting software and upload your photo.  Afterward you will see your image on photobucket. Click on it and you should now see your image with a box full of codes next to it.  You will need a code to post the button on your website.

To do this go to your blogger dashboard and click on Design.  Afterward, click on Add a Gadget. Now choose HTML/Javascript from the Add a Gadget window.  Next, copy and past this code:

You will have to go back to photobucket and grab the Direct Link code. Insert this code where it says Direct Link.  Do not remove the " " or your code will not work.  Add your Blog URL where it says Blog URL.  After adding the code to my blog and filling in the needed links, my button and grab code look like this.

Hit Save and view your blog.  Now you are done and should have a great looking blog with a brand new button! Great job!
